Top 5 NBA Draft Prospects in the NCAA Tournament

BY: Weston Swift

This year has been very different for college basketball, we didn't get a tournament last year due to the global pandemic, so the NCAA has done everything in there power to get to the tournament this year. Another aspect of this season that made this year even stranger, was the introduction of the G-League Ignite team which offered big contracts to several high level recruits including Jalen Green and Jonathan Kuminga who both will be picked in the top 5 of this upcoming draft. This is going over every high level prospect in the NCAA tournament player.

1) Cade Cunningham (OK. State)

Everyone knew this was coming, he's averaging just under 20 points a game, has single handedly led his team to a 4 seed, and he's a 6'8 point god scouts drool over. Hopefully he wins a couple of games so we get to watch more of him in his last month in a college uniform.

2) Evan Mobley

Much like Ok. State, USC is here because of one player, that players' name Evan Mobley a 7 ft. stretch big, who can block shots. He will most likely be picked right after Cunningham at No. 2. USC has some other pieces but no other big time NBA guys, so we will see how Mobley does, because he is on the west coast only so many people have gotten to really watch him. I am excited about this guy, he has been compared to a rim protecting Chris Bosh.

3) Jalen Suggs

He might be considered the no brainer #1 pick if he was 6'8 instead of 6'4, but unfortunately that is not the case. He is still the most talented player on the best team and should get plenty of air time as Gonzaga are the favorites to win the title. Suggs finally has the chance to separate himself from Kuminga and Green as the #3 guy, and maybe even catch the guys ahead of him.

4) Luka Garza

This is probably the best college basketball player in the world, but NBA prospect ehh there's not much room in todays league for a slow footed 7 footer who can't stretch the floor. Though, he is one of the most experienced players in the country and we will see if he can leave as a champion.

5) Corey Kispert

If you noticed under Jalen Suggs I said most talented player on Gonzaga, but Kispert is the best player on the roster. I got the chance to meet him and watch him live, he is a pure shooter and will be exciting on the next level. Think Joe Harris who is a bit bigger and can finish at the rim a bit better.
